Controller (Temporary)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative finance professional to join our team in a temporary controller capacity. In this role, you will help support the organization’s accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and ensure timely and accurate reporting. This position is well suited for someone who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data and reporting.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Support cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit preparation, external reporting, and compliance-related requests.
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Identify process improvements and help implement efficient accounting practices.
• Supervise or support accounting staff as needed during the assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a controller-level or senior accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience supporting interim, temporary, or project-based finance assignments.
• Background in improving accounting processes or supporting system transitions.
• Comfort working independently while also collaborating with a broader team.
