The basic function of the Controls Technician is to build control panels per USC, LLC specifications.  This position reports to the Electrical Controls Manager.

 

Pay adjustments are not given at the time of performance evaluations. A complete company pay review is conducted once a year and appropriate pay adjustments are ma at that time.

 

Job Requirements

• Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.
• License/Certification: Required: Valid Driver’s License
• Experience:  Experience in manufacturing.  Hands on experience reading prints and wiring and assembling products.
• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Must be detail oriented, capable of multitasking in a high intensity environment, computer literate a plus.  Self motivated.  Team Oriented.  Manage conflict.
• Physical:  Must have a full range of body movements including use of hands. Able to lift 50 lbs. The senses of sight, speech (English) and hearing are required. Vision abilities must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to printed forms.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble control panels per schematics/prints:
  • Reading dimensional layouts. o Drilling, tapping, punching and mounting components to panels. o Point to point wiring of internal panel components.
  • Use of multi-meter to verify correct circuitry. o Assist with the pre-wire of equipment when needed.
  • Produce a product that complies with USC quality standards. o Develop a working knowledge of USC’s equipment.
  • Troubleshoot control panels. o Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly.
  • Adhere to all USC safety policies.
• Other Duties:
  • Potential for taking on tasks in other departments when extra help is needed. o Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Electrical Controls Manager.

 

Working Conditions

Primary work is in a non-climate controlled, smoke free manufacturing warehouse environment.  Hours will be as scheduled.
