Join Hitachi Energy and help shape the future of reliable, sustainable power systems. We’re looking for a dynamic Controls Design Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and bringing innovative ideas to life. In this role, you’ll design and develop advanced control and monitoring solutions for power transformers—critical equipment that keeps industries, communities, and infrastructure powered around the world.

You’ll collaborate with talented teams across engineering, software, and project management, contributing to solutions that elevate performance, efficiency, and safety. If you enjoy combining technical expertise with creativity, love working hands-on with control systems, and want to be part of a mission-driven organization advancing a carbon-neutral energy future, this opportunity is for you.

At Hitachi Energy, you’ll grow, make meaningful contributions, and see your work come to life in real-world applications. Be part of a global team building what’s next in energy technology.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop and refine detailed control system designs for power transformers.
  • Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software seamlessly.
  • Execute commissioning activities, including startup, calibration, and tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with existing control equipment.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure quality, compliance, and safety.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in controls or panel design within an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Solid understanding of electrical schematics, PID control, and motor control.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, UL508, and NFPA 70 standards.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).

More about us

  • You'll join a global leader committed to advancing a sustainable energy future.
  • We offer continuous learning, upskilling opportunities, and career mobility across a diverse international organization.
  • You’ll be part of an inclusive culture that values collaboration, innovation, and personal growth.
