Controls Engineer

Enerzyz is an AI-powered, protocol-agnostic energy asset orchestration platform. It sits on top of existing control infrastructure and autonomously runs energy assets across data centres, commercial buildings, hotels, and industrial sites .

No rip-and-replace — just an intelligent layer that makes existing assets work the way they should.

The Role

You’ve seen the gap between the sequence of operations on paper and how a plant actually runs.

At Enerzyz, you’ll turn that field knowledge into control strategies an AI layer can execute safely across hundreds of assets and sites.

What You’ll Do

• Design and validate control strategies for energy assets including:
• Compressors
• Boilers
• Generators
• Engines
• Chiller plants
• Cooling towers
• AHUs
• CRAHs
• Other energy-intensive systems
• Integrate Enerzyz OS with site BMS, SCADA, and PLC systems over BACnet, Modbus, CAN, and OPC-UA
• Define safe operating envelopes, interlocks, override logic, and fallback-to-BMS behaviour for autonomous control
• Lead site surveys, point mapping, commissioning, and onboarding of new facilities
• Work with ML and software teams to translate plant physics into optimisation logic and model constraints
• Diagnose control issues in live sites and turn lessons into reusable templates and playbooks

What You Bring

• Proven experience in building automation, HVAC controls, data centre cooling, or industrial controls
• Hands-on commissioning and loop-tuning experience on real plants
• Strong working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and OPC-UA
• Experience with major BMS or SCADA platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, JCI, Schneider, or similar
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics, chiller plant sequencing, and energy performance metrics including:
• kW/RT
• COP
• PUE

Nice to Have

• PLC programming ( IEC 61131-3 ) or SCADA configuration experience
• Python scripting or data analysis skills
• Exposure to M&V methodologies (IPMVP) or energy auditing
• Experience with OT cybersecurity practices
