Controls Engineer

We re looking for a skilled Controls Engineer with strong shop-floor experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment located near Essex, ON .

Pay

• $90-$100K

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, integrate, and commission PLC-based control systems and automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, robots, vision systems, sensors, 24V wiring, and manufacturing equipment.
• Support equipment diagnostics, repairs, and commissioning to minimize downtime.
• Standardize control platforms and implement improvements to increase productivity and system reliability.
• Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure control systems meet IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, engineering, and other departments.
• Promote continuous improvement, teamwork, safety, and a clean, organized work environment.
• Ensure suppliers and team members follow required safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Technologist Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• 5 7 years of controls engineering experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
• Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting industrial robots; Rokae experience is preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work weekday and weekend overtime as required.
