The Employee’s Welfare Association (EWA) of Tokyo has been formed to operate non-government services and facilities primarily for the benefit of U.S. Government employees and their eligible family members. The main services currently offered include a Preschool, School Bus Transportation, , Recreation Classes and a Convenience Store. EWA operates on the U.S. Embassy Mitsui Housing Compound in Roppongi.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

EWA is a private association of employees of the U.S. Embassy Tokyo. Incumbent will primarily assist the Store Manager with duties/responsibilities within the EWA Store. Duties include, but are not limited to, clerical functions, preparation of stock orders, computer data entry, cashier, stocking, count money, customer service, and cleaning.

Schedule:

This is primarily a Monday–Friday position with a fixed schedule. However, the schedule may be revised on certain months to accommodate staff availability and operational needs. Occasional weekend work may also be required.

Working hours generally range from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Transportation Allowance:

Up to a maximum of ¥25,000 per month.

休暇・休日:

You will be entitled to 10 days of paid time off (PTO) per year. PTO will begin accruing after completion of the 6-month probationary period. In accordance with Japanese labor requirements regarding annual paid leave, the store has designated five days off each year: January 1, July 4, November 23, December 25, and one additional day to be determined among the store staff. These days are established in advance and are already taken into consideration in the monthly salary advertised for this position. Employees who wish to receive pay for these designated days off are required to use their available PTO.
