Conventional Turner in Ridderkerk | Up to €4,500 gross/month | 38 hours, day shifts, varied repair work and Fridays off at 3 PM.

Dit ga je doen No long production runs where you make the same component every day. As a Conventional Turner, you will work on different components and repair jobs every time. One day you might be machining steel or stainless steel, while the next job involves aluminium, bronze or plastic.

In the machine shop, you will work with conventional machinery, including lathes and vertical lathes. There is no CNC-controlled production here: your technical insight and craftsmanship make the difference. You set up the machines, determine the best way to machine a component and check the quality and dimensions of your own work.

As a Conventional Turner, your responsibilities include:

• Conventional turning of various components;
• Milling and grinding;
• Setting up and operating conventional machinery;
• Machining steel, stainless steel, aluminium, bronze and plastics;
• Assembling and disassembling components;
• Carrying out repair and custom machining work;
• Checking dimensions and quality.

You will work on components used in industrial and maritime applications. This makes the work varied and regularly presents you with new technical challenges.

Dit vragen we

• You have demonstrable experience in turning and/or machining;
• You are able to independently machine at least smaller components on a lathe;
• You have good technical and mechanical understanding;
• You speak sufficient Dutch or English to understand technical and safety instructions.

There is no strict requirement regarding a minimum number of years of experience. What you can actually do independently is more important than the number of years listed on your CV.

Experience in reading technical drawings is an advantage, but not essential. This can be further developed on the job.

Dit wordt je werkplek You will be working at a small technical family business in Ridderkerk with around 20 employees. The company specialises in the repair, overhaul and surface treatment of industrial and maritime components. It has its own machine shop, coating department and service team.

The company works for customers in sectors including industry, shipping, dredging and yacht building. Because the focus is on repair work rather than mass production, every job can be different. Urgent assignments occur regularly and priorities may change throughout the day.

Within the small team, you will have plenty of independence and opportunities to further develop your technical skills. The aim is to eventually offer a good Conventional Turner a long-term position within the company.

You will work approximately 38 hours per week:

• Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM;
• Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Occasional overtime may be required when urgent repairs need to be completed.
