CONVERSION - International Sorter - 1st Shift

SUMMARY:

The International Sorter will process international mail ensuring mail is correctly sorted, clearly printed and labels are placed correctly; all sorting procedures accurately followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sort all mail by sort area requirements and in accordance with company quality process standards
• Meet sorting production quota standards
• Inspect each piece of mail to ensure the indicia are affixed correctly and it is sorted properly by country
• Maintain cleanliness of work area
• Duties may include reassignment to alternate operational areas as business needs require
• Essential duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be supplemented or otherwise revised by DHL at its sole discretion

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School or equivalent training and/or least 9 months related experience preferred

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Understand and carry out oral instructions; read and carry out simple written instructions
• Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically by country code
• Work under pressure rapidly for long periods of time
• Work as a member of a team
• This work is routine by nature with established routines and standing instructions
• Interface with other employees in the same department on a regular basis

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. (additional weight may be required with assistance)
• Move mail utilizing pallet jack
• This is a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting

Pay Rate: $18.00/hourly
