JOB SUMMARY:

The Converting Assistant is responsible for assisting in the operation of slitting and rewinding equipment used to convert large rolls of material into finished rolls according to customer specifications. This position supports production goals by maintaining quality standards, following safety procedures, and ensuring efficient machine operation.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the setting up and operation of slitting machines according to job specifications
• Load and unload rolls of material
• Identify and report quality, equipment, or material issues
• Monitor machine operation to ensure proper tension, alignment, and cut accuracy
• Perform basic machine adjustments under supervision
• Inspects materials for defects and ensure finished products meet quality requirements
• Assist with routine machine adjustments and basic preventative maintenance
• Complete required production documentation accurately and timely
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
• Communicate effectively with leadership and warehouse teams
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma
• Previous experience in manufacturing, converting, or slitting operations preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
• Ability to read measuring devices
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift up to 60 pounds
• Frequent bending, reaching and material handling
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
