Converting Equipment Operator

About the Role

As a Converting Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in our production facility by managing high-speed equipment to transform raw materials into finished paper products. You will ensure operational excellence by maintaining precise quality standards and optimizing machine performance to meet daily output goals.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage bag-making machinery, including loading materials and calibrating settings for specific product dimensions.
• Execute precise mechanical adjustments, such as mounting cylinders and fine-tuning ink distribution and tension, to ensure product integrity.
• Proactively troubleshoot equipment stoppages and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain a steady workflow.
• Conduct rigorous quality inspections throughout the production cycle, ensuring all output adheres to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Accurately document production data and maintain detailed logs to support operational reporting.
• Uphold a high standard of workplace organization and safety by adhering to all established facility protocols.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
• Proven ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and equipment setups.
• Capacity to meet physical demands, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to undergo pre-employment screening.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in the paper converting or packaging industry.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex production dockets and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on continuous process improvement.
