Converting Press Technician

About the Role

As a Converting Press Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of specialized converting equipment to produce high-quality labels and custom converted products. You will play a vital role in our production success by ensuring precision in every run and contributing to the innovation of new material applications.

Responsibilities

• Configure and calibrate converting machinery to meet exact technical specifications and project requirements.
• Drive product excellence by performing rigorous quality inspections against design drawings and established benchmarks.
• Maximize operational efficiency by proactively troubleshooting mechanical issues and minimizing material waste.
• Execute routine preventative maintenance and equipment sanitation to ensure peak performance.
• Maintain accurate production documentation to support workflow transparency and inventory tracking.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and develop new product applications and material processes.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of recent experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or converting environment.
• Strong proficiency in shop math, including fractions, percentages, and precise measurements.
• Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and apply them to production tasks.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and workplace protocols.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience within a flexographic printing environment.
• Technical familiarity with paper stocks, specialized inks, and printing industry materials.
• Proficiency with precision inspection tools such as dial and digital calipers.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort with shifting production priorities.
• Basic computer literacy and experience with digital job tracking systems.
