SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Cook I is an entry-level culinary position responsible for basic food preparation and kitchen sanitation. This role provides foundational support to the kitchen team by assisting with meal prep, cleaning, and learning basic cooking techniques under supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist with basic food preparation (e.g., chopping, measuring, simple recipes).

· Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment.

· Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.

· Store food and supplies properly following rotation and labeling standards.

· Learn and apply kitchen best practices under supervision.

· Support line cooks and chefs in preparing for service.

· Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Some prior experience required; kitchen or food service experience a plus.

· Must obtain Food Handler’s Certification within 30 days of hire.

· Willingness to learn and take direction.

· Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

· Successful completion of background check, drug test, physical, and TB screening.

· Valid driver's license.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
