The Cook 2 (Garde Manger) is responsible for supporting the culinary team by preparing high-quality food items while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and food safety standards. This position primarily supports Garde Manger operations and may also assist banquet culinary operations as business needs require. Working under the guidance of senior culinary team members, the Cook 2 plays an important role in delivering quality food and exceptional guest experiences while continuing to develop culinary knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present menu items in accordance with Hyatt and culinary standards

• Support daily Garde Manger operations, including the preparation of salads, cold foods, garnishes, and other menu items

• Assist banquet culinary operations as needed to support events and business levels

• Follow established recipes, production sheets, and portion control standards

• Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards for all food products

• Properly store, label, rotate, and handle food products in accordance with food safety guidelines

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations, equipment, and storage areas

• Support multiple kitchen stations as operational needs require

• Work collaboratively with culinary and food and beverage teams to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction

• Uphold sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards in all areas of kitchen operations

• Promote Hyatt's Culture of Care through teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail

Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• One to two years of previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred

• Ability to effectively work a station under supervision and assist across multiple kitchen areas as needed

• Culinary degree or related hotel culinary experience preferred but not required

• Knowledge of basic culinary techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight, up to 50 pounds

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires
