About the role

As a Cook at Sukizen, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality Japanese dishes with a focus on authentic Sukiyaki cuisine. This full-time position is based in Central Jakarta and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic restaurant environment alongside a passionate culinary team.

You will play an important role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and presentation of our food while helping create an enjoyable Japanese dining experience for every guest.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare and cook Sukiyaki and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and standards
2. Prepare and handle ingredients, including high-quality beef, vegetables, sauces, broth, and other Sukiyaki components
3. Ensure all food is prepared with consistent taste, quality, and presentation
4. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
5. Ensure proper food storage, handling, and preparation in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
6. Collaborate with the culinary and service teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations
7. Monitor ingredient quality and report any issues to the Chef or Supervisor
8. Support daily kitchen operations and perform additional duties as required

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a Japanese restaurant, Sukiyaki restaurant, or other Asian cuisine establishment
2. Basic knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques
3. Experience handling meat, vegetables, sauces, and broth is an advantage
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and consistency
7. Willingness to learn and develop Japanese culinary skills
8. Flexible and adaptable to the fast-paced restaurant environment
