Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to menu guidelines, ensuring residents’ nutritional needs are met
• Assist with ordering food and supplies as needed
• Monitor and record food temperatures; verify quality prior to service
• Maintain organized inventory by properly sorting, labeling, and dating food and supplies
• Uphold a clean and safe kitchen environment through proper sanitation and waste disposal practices
• Oversee the sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and food service spaces
• Update and maintain menu boards for residents
• Support the Food Service Manager with hiring, onboarding, training, and supervising dietary staff

Cook Qualifications

• MN Food Protection Manager certificate preferred
• Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
• One year experience as a cook preparing food in a long-term care setting preferred
• Ability to wok as a team member and resolve problem situations constructively
• Experience working with seniors preferred
