Cook / Chef Attendant

We're seeking an experienced Chef / Cook Attendant to join our team at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. This role is vital in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals while upholding strict food safety and hygiene standards.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Prepare and cook menu items with consistency and quality.
• Minimise food waste and manage ingredient preparation.
• Coordinate kitchen and service areas to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain food safety standards, including correct storage, rotation, and temperature control.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor hot and cold food cabinets and maintain correct holding temperatures.
• Ensure excellent presentation and customer service.

What You'll Bring

• At least 1 year experience in a busy kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food safety and allergen management.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery
• Food Handlers Certificate
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or wllingness to obtain)
