POSITION DESCRIPTION

Perform general cooking and baking duties under the direct supervision of the Building Manager or his/her designee.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and cook meats, fish, gravies, casseroles, vegetables, cereals, soups, fruit, and other food items according to standardized recipes in a timely and efficient manner.
• Prepare and cook entrees as required.
• Prepare and cook foods for special diets as required.
• Assist in the guidance of student workers in the performance of their responsibilities.
• Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.
• Prepare and bake cakes, pies, and hot breads as required.
• Serve and replenish foods as needed.
• clean and sanitize kitchen, and wash and sanitize kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Prevent food contamination by proper handling, cooking, refrigeration, and thawing.
• Maintain related production records.
• Suggest new menu items and recipe revisions.
• Maintain appearance and hygiene within stated Auxiliary Services and governmental guidelines.
• Perform duties in accordance with established safety practices.
• Perform other similar or related tasks.
