What they need
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards
- Ensuring all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented to the required specification
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workspace at all times
- Managing mise en place and ensuring all ingredients are properly prepared and readily available
- Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods
- Following all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and storage of ingredients
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting to management when supplies need replenishing
- Assisting with menu development and suggesting new dishes based on available ingredients and culinary expertise
- Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Adapting quickly to changes in orders and responding to special dietary requirements
