Proof Liquor and Deli Kitchen Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements:

21 or older

TX Food Handler Certification (before hire)

TABC Certification (may be obtained after hire)

Ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift at least 50 lbs

Reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructions in English

Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen

Previous experience working with a POS system and cash handling is preferred but not required.

Weekend (Saturday) work required.

About the Job:

The cooks at Proof are responsible for the preparation and handling of the majority of the food offerings at Proof Liquor and Deli. We make sandwiches to order, as well as scratch soups, deli salads, dips, and baked goods. In addition to cooking sandwich orders and maintaining prep par levels, cooks are responsible for washing kitchen tools and equipment, maintaining the iced tea station, trash duties, sweeping and mopping, putting away incoming kitchen deliveries, following local Health Code guidelines, etc. Because we are a small business, staff are expected to be able to assist with other store duties during busy times or when a coworker is on break. These duties include answering phones and keying in deli orders, ringing up sales following appropriate TABC policy, and some cash handling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
