About the role

R Family Pte Ltd is seeking a talented and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team in the Novena Central Region. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Cook, you will be instrumental in preparing high-quality dishes whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation. Your work will directly impact our reputation for excellence and contribute to the overall success of our hospitality operations.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes and plating standards, ensuring consistency and quality
• Managing your assigned station efficiently, maintaining organisation and cleanliness throughout service
• Receiving and preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning as required
• Monitoring food quality and taste, adjusting seasonings and cooking times to meet company standards
• Adhering strictly to all food safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations, including proper storage and handling procedures
• Collaborating with fellow kitchen staff and chefs to ensure smooth service operations and timely meal preparation
• Assisting with food inventory management and reporting stock levels as needed
• Following dietary requirements and special requests, communicating effectively with senior kitchen staff
• Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen environment, supporting team members when needed

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role within a hospitality or food service environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary best practices
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certifications such as food handling or food hygiene preferred
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, managing multiple tasks simultaneously during busy service periods
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding food presentation and portion control
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take direction from senior chefs and work collaboratively with kitchen staff
• Physical stamina and fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual kitchen duties
• Flexibility with working hours, including potential evening, weekend and public holiday shifts
• A passion for food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness
• Experience with varied cuisines or specialised cooking techniques is advantageous
