Hearts Family Restaurant is looking for a dependable, energetic, and hardworking Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, takes pride in preparing quality food, and understands the importance of teamwork, cleanliness, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to Hearts Family Restaurant recipes, quality standards, and portion guidelines.
• Handle food safely and follow all applicable food safety and sanitation requirements.
• Properly receive, store, rotate, and handle food products to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, equipment, utensils, and kitchen areas.
• Monitor food quality, temperature, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and food quality.
• Communicate effectively with other kitchen team members and front-of-house staff.
• Assist with stocking, prep work, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Follow opening, closing, and daily kitchen procedures.
• Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests.
• Help create a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous restaurant, kitchen, or food-service experience preferred.
• Experience with food preparation and cooking in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move kitchen supplies.
• Ability to work as part of a team and remain dependable during busy shifts.
• Must be punctual, responsible, and willing to learn.

Pay: $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
