Cook

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and caring Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in a preschool/childcare setting. The ideal candidate is organized, food-safety focused, and enjoys supporting children’s health and well-being through balanced meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to the school’s menu and nutritional guidelines
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen including dishes, surfaces, appliances, and food storage areas
• Properly store food and monitor expiration dates and inventory
• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special meal requests
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule
• Maintain accurate kitchen logs and cleaning checklists
• Communicate with administration regarding supply needs or concerns
• Follow all school policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Must be dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Ability to lift kitchen supplies and stand for extended periods
• Must pass required background checks (per state licensing requirements)
• Food Handler’s Permit or willingness to obtain one
• Experience preparing meals for children with allergies or dietary needs
