Bartlett Park District is a unit of local government that provides 611 acres of beautiful parks and outstanding recreational opportunities for the residents of Bartlett and surrounding communities.  Major facilities of this Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency and two-time National Gold Medal finalist include 44 parks, a flagship community center, indoor aquatic center and outdoor water park, a 9-hole golf course and an 18-hole golf course, event venue, ski slopes, athletic field complex, nature center, two gymnasiums, and more.

JOB SUMMARY: The Line Cook are responsible for the preparation of food in accordance with the established recipes. This is an at-will position. Responsibilities include:

• Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are adhered to at all times.
• Attend district-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.
• Comply with the District’s Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing.
• Prepares an extensive variety of cold and hot food items.
• Ensure food’s quality and presentation to the highest standard compliant to the established recipes.
• Work in areas as needed (i.e. salad prep, grill, line work, carving stations, setting up/breaking down buffet lines or where any food items are involved.
• Appropriately portions and arranges food on serving dishes.
• Assists with the set-up of kitchen before shift and tear down at the end of shift.
• Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production in the kitchen.
• Be courteous and helpful at all times.
• Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations.  The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Must have or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment Illinois Safe Food Handler Certificate. Two to five years’ experience in a banquet, restaurant or catering facility desired. Must be dependable and able to follow directions.

SCHEDULE & PAY: This is a part-time, hourly position. Flexible schedule and must be able to work weekends. Anticipated hiring rate is $15.00 - $16.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications.
