Cook

Role Description The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for staff and visitors in accordance with established menus and nutritional guidelines. Daily tasks include food preparation, cooking a variety of dishes, managing portion sizes, and ensuring food is presented consistently and safely. The Cook will maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow food safety and hygiene standards, manage basic inventory of ingredients, and coordinate with purchasing or management as needed. This is a full-time, on-site role based in California, United States, requiring regular collaboration with team members and adherence to scheduled meal times.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking a variety of dishes, and basic menu execution.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Experience maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment and following standard operating procedures.
• Basic skills in inventory checking, portion control, and minimizing food waste.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work efficiently during peak meal periods.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen and facility staff in a diverse environment.
• Prior experience as a cook or kitchen assistant in a commercial or institutional setting is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is an advantage.
