Cook / Kitchen Staff – Kala

Job Summary:
Kala is seeking experienced and motivated Cook / Kitchen Staff to join our culinary team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role supports both daily operations and private events, ensuring all dishes are prepared to Kala’s high standards for quality, taste, and presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients, cook, and assemble menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Assist in plating and presentation of dishes for regular service and private events.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations throughout shifts.
• Follow proper food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
• Monitor inventory, assist in stock rotation, and notify management of supply needs.
• Support kitchen operations during regular service and private events, ensuring timely and accurate orders.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth workflow and high-quality service.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned to support efficient operations.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 1–5 years of professional kitchen experience, depending on role level.
• Knowledge of basic to advanced cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Culinary training or formal education is a plus but not required.

Shift:

• Afternoons and evenings (primary)
• Weekends (required)
• Private events as scheduled

Pay: $14.00 per hour
