About the Role

Burgerfreak is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time, ongoing basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to our established recipes and standards, ensuring consistent food quality across every shift.

Key Duties

• Prepare and cook food items according to standardised recipes and portion specifications.
• Operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers and food preparation tools safely and efficiently.
• Assemble and plate menu items accurately to meet presentation standards.
• Monitor food stock levels and rotate stock to minimise waste.
• Receive and check deliveries against orders.
• Maintain a clean, organised kitchen in line with food safety and WHS requirements.
• Follow food handling, storage and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Carry out opening and closing kitchen duties as rostered.
• Work cooperatively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely, accurate service.

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience working as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow standardised recipes and prepare food to a consistent standard.
• Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
