Position: Hotel Cook

Department: Kitchen

Location: Soka, Ibadan.

Working hours: 24 hours shift (A day on a day off)

Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the hotel’s menu, recipes, quality standards, and food safety requirements while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook meals according to the hotel menu and standard recipes.

* Ensure food is properly cooked, presented, and served on time.

* Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, hygiene, and presentation.

* Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, seasoning, and portioning appropriately.

* Maintain cleanliness of cooking equipment, utensils, and work areas.

* Store food items properly and monitor food freshness and expiry dates.

* Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently.

* Follow all hotel food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.

* Assist with stock-taking and report shortages or spoiled ingredients.

* Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

* Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by the Head Chef or management.

Requirements

* Minimum of SSCE/OND/NCE or relevant culinary qualification.

* Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.

* Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen hygiene.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.

* Good teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.

* Must be neat, disciplined, reliable, and safety-conscious.
