Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Cook to join our Dietary Services team in a skilled nursing facility. The Cook plays an essential role in preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that support the health and well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing meals that meet dietary and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, portion sizes, and therapeutic diet guidelines
• Assist with menu preparation to meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents
• Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Assist with food storage, labeling, and inventory management
• Work collaboratively with the dietary team, nursing staff, and dietary manager to ensure resident satisfaction
• Support kitchen operations including prep work, cleaning, and equipment maintenance as needed

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred (healthcare or institutional setting a plus)
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and menu planning
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic knife skills and kitchen safety knowledge
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
