Join the Opening Team at Pop’s Chesapeake Smoke Shack

Pop’s is a new waterfront restaurant expected to open in November at Georgetown Yacht Haven on the Sassafras River.

We’ll serve pit chicken, Chesapeake seafood, oysters, and seasonal favorites, with an indoor bar and dining room, outdoor seating, and beautiful river views. We’re creating a welcoming spot for locals, marina guests, and anyone looking for good food and a relaxed place to gather.

We’ll be open Thursday through Sunday, with full-time and part-time positions available. We’re looking for dependable, hardworking people who want to help build our team from day one.

Cook — Full-Time or Part-Time

Our cooks will work from our kitchen trailer and outdoor cooking area, preparing pit chicken, seafood, sandwiches, and seasonal menu items. You’ll be part of a small team that values good food, consistency, and working together.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items to our standards.
• Work with our outdoor pits, grills, and kitchen trailer equipment.
• Follow food safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Keep your station stocked and ready for service.
• Help with food prep, opening, and closing duties.
• Work with the team to keep orders accurate and moving efficiently.

Who We’re Looking For

• Someone who takes pride in preparing consistently good food.
• A dependable teammate with a positive attitude.
• Someone comfortable working in a kitchen trailer and outdoors in changing weather.
• Someone who stays organized and works well during busy service.
• Previous line cook or kitchen experience is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.

Schedule: Thursday through Sunday. Saturday and Sunday availability is required. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Pay: $17-20 per hour, based on experience.
