What they need

Company Description Sai Wine & Champagne Café is Ghana’s only wine café, offering a wide range of wines and champagne from around the world, paired with tapas, continental dishes, and chocolate. The café focuses on creating a welcoming environment for business meetings, social gatherings, and solo visits, with an emphasis on high-quality food and beverages. Guests can enjoy lunch, dinner, and tapas, complemented by engaging weekly events such as Bottomless Bubbly and wine or cognac tastings. Open seven days a week in Accra, Sai Wine & Champagne Café provides a lively, customer-centered experience for both regular patrons and new visitors.

Role Description The Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at Sai Wine & Champagne Café in Accra. The Cook will prepare and present tapas and continental dishes, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and portion control in line with the café’s standards. Day-to-day tasks include food prep, cooking and plating menu items, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and adhering to food safety practices. The Cook will work closely with the service team to coordinate orders, manage timing, and support a smooth guest experience during busy lunch, dinner, and event services. The role also involves assisting with inventory checks, proper storage of ingredients, and contributing ideas for menu improvements and specials.

  • Basic understanding of Ghanaian and international food preferences, with openness to learning and adapting recipes as needed.
  • Formal culinary training or certification is beneficial but not strictly required; demonstrable skills and passion for cooking are essential.
