About the role

We are an established pizza and pasta restaurant specialising in preparing and serving a variety of pizzas, pasta and other dishes. Our distinctive flavours and food quality come from the in-house preparation of ingredients, including freshly prepared pizza sauces, pasta sauces, gravies and accompaniments, using a range of cooking methods and techniques. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our team and maintain our high standards of food preparation, taste, quality and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of dishes
• Assist in creating and developing new recipes and special dishes to enhance the restaurant's offerings
• Prepare sauces, gravies, marinades, and accompaniments using a range of cooking methods and techniques
• Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion control, and presentation
• Monitor cooking temperatures, seasoning, and preparation methods to maintain high food quality standards
• Prepare, portion, and organise ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and other food items for service
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen in compliance with food safety and health regulations
• Train and support junior kitchen staff where necessary

About you

• Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a commercial kitchen, or a relevant qualification in Cookery or Food and Beverage
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices
• Ability to work effectively in a busy commercial kitchen environment
