Cook

We’re looking for a Cook to join our small, family-run wine bar team working a couple of days a week and to also be back up when staff go on leave.

We’re a busy little local spot serving good food, great wine and a relaxed atmosphere. We’re looking for someone who can jump in, keep up when things get busy and, most importantly, bring great vibes to the kitchen.

The Role

You’ll be helping with:

• Preparing and cooking our menu during service
• Setting up the kitchen and preparing ingredients before service
• Keeping food moving during busy periods and working to ticket times
• Plating and presenting dishes to a high standard
• Maintaining consistency across the menu
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running efficiently
• Following food safety and hygiene requirements
• Stock rotation, ordering and keeping on top of kitchen supplies
• Helping with menu preparation and kitchen organisation
• Washing dishes and general kitchen duties when needed
• Jumping in wherever needed because in a small kitchen, everyone pitches in!

What We’re Looking For

We’d love someone who:

• Has previous cooking or kitchen experience
• Is confident cooking in a busy hospitality environment
• Can work independently and keep things moving during service
• Has a good understanding of food preparation, cooking and presentation
• Takes pride in the food they put out
• Is reliable, organised and able to stay calm when things get busy
• Has good attention to detail and cares about consistency
• Is happy to take direction and work as part of a small team
• Is flexible and happy to go with the flow, hospitality can throw anything at you!
• Has a positive attitude and brings good energy and great vibes to work
• Is willing to get stuck in and help wherever needed
• Understands that in a small kitchen, everyone pitches in

Food safety knowledge and relevant hospitality experience are highly regarded.

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour
