SUMMARY/MAIN OBJECTIVE:
A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking sufficient amount and quality food/meal for the customers while following proper food handling, health and safety guidelines/procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide safe and quality meals to the customers while ensuring proper food handling and safety is followed.
• Cook food according to the scheduled menu, or a special dietary and nutritional restrictions (if needed), providing sufficient number of portions equal to the amount of customer/staff.
• Monitor food items and ensure proper usage and storage with minimal waste while following proper food handling and safety procedures.
• Monitor food supplies and requisitions if needed.
• Prepare meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and other food items according to the scheduled menu, ensuring proper quantity needed preparation.
• Ensure ingredients used are within budget and financial scope of operations.
• Monitor and ensure that kitchen tools and equipment for cooking are clean, sanitized and working properly.
• Clean, sanitize and organize working area, chiller, freezer for cooking before, during, and after usage for a smooth operation.
• May safely operate a vehicle to make food deliveries as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.

WORK ATTIRE:

• Plain Black Shirt/Polo Shirt/Pants (Minimal print is acceptable) required.
• Kitchen Headgear (Cap, Hairnet for staff that has long hair) required.
• Closed Non-Slip Shoes with Socks required.
• Facial Hair Net (For staff with facial hair with length more than half an inch) required.

Note: All attire worn in the work place should not have any offensive, disturbing and inappropriate words or images.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is regularly performed in a high paced kitchen environment with exposure to extreme temperatures (above 140 degrees / below 40 degrees).

Note: Often exposed to various weather conditions for delivery drivers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Employee must be able to stay active for prolonged periods of time.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
• Employee will be required to tolerate exposure to seafood and chlorine sanitation solutions without experiencing allergic reactions or sensitivities.
• Must be able to wear vinyl or latex gloves.

POSITION TYPE:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Health Certificate, REQUIRED.
• Servsafe Certification preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of food handling, safety, and health guidelines.
• Ability to operate kitchen tools and equipment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and comply with Superiors.
• Driver’s License recommended. (Required for Cook Utility Drivers)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Kitchen / F&B experience preferred (3 Years)
• Knowledge and Skill in Filipino Cuisine highly preferred
