Position Summary

We are hiring two part-time Cooks to join our weekend dietary team. Cooks will be responsible for preparing meals according to established menus, maintaining safe food handling practices, and ensuring a clean and sanitary kitchen. You’ll work alongside our Dietary Manager and support staff to provide quality meals that meet both patient needs and regulatory standards.

Shift: 2pm-7pm or 11am-7pm and rotating weekends

Job Description

• Prepare and serve meals according to menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is handled, stored, and prepared safely and in compliance with health codes.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies.
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and team members to ensure timely meals.
• Follow all Strive Recovery policies and procedures to support a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience as a cook in healthcare, food service, or hospitality setting preferred
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable and punctual, with a positive and professional attitude
