About the role

PT Thunder Skirt is seeking an experienced Cook to join our dynamic culinary team in Bali. This is a contract position that offers a fantastic opportunity to work in the vibrant hospitality and tourism sector. As a Cook, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional food experiences to our guests, working in a fast-paced kitchen environment where culinary excellence and precision are paramount. This role is based in Bali and will see you contributing to our reputation for outstanding cuisine and service.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes, menus and food safety standards
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of cooking stations
• Ensuring all dishes meet our quality standards and are presented attractively before service
• Managing food preparation tasks including washing, chopping, marinating and seasoning ingredients
• Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation during service periods
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory management and ordering when required
• Following all food hygiene regulations and health and safety protocols at all times
• Responding to feedback from senior chefs and adjusting cooking techniques or presentations as needed
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment throughout all shifts

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen, ideally within hospitality or tourism settings
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary best practices
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to consistency and quality
• Physical stamina and the ability to work standing for extended periods in a hot kitchen environment
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Flexibility with shift patterns, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends
• Basic English communication skills preferred
• Culinary qualifications or formal training in food preparation would be advantageous
