We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our professional and dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Masterfully prepare and execute our menu of Japanese dishes, ensuring every plate meets our exacting standards for flavour, temperature, and presentation.
  • Skillfully manage all aspects of your designated station's setup and preparation, ensuring all ingredients are prepped to specification and you are fully prepared for service.
  • Dynamically fire and artfully plate dishes during fast-paced service, coordinating timing with other chefs and the front-of-house team to create a seamless dining experience.
  • Proactively assist in managing inventory by monitoring stock levels, conducting quality checks on received goods, and practicing a 'first-in, first-out' (FIFO) rotation system.
  • Champion a culture of pristine hygiene, rigorously adhering to and exceeding all Australian Food Safety Standards to guarantee a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen environment through clear, respectful, and effective communication with all members of the culinary and service teams.

  • Take pride and ownership in your station, ensuring all commercial equipment and utensils are immaculately cleaned, properly maintained, and in optimal working order.
  • Contribute to the kitchen's profitability by practicing disciplined portion control and employing effective techniques to minimise food waste.
  • Demonstrate exceptional composure and efficiency during high-volume periods, consistently delivering high-quality work while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

Position Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A minimum of a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required. A Diploma of Hospitality Management will be highly regarded as the role involves supporting our kitchen operations.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Cook within a busy commercial kitchen environment.
  • Kitchen Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Australian commercial kitchen operations, standards, and safety procedures. You must be able to "hit the ground running."
  • Attention to Detail: A genuine passion for cooking with a meticulous eye for detail and presentation.
  • Efficiency & Composure: Strong organisational and time-management skills. You must be an efficient and tidy worker who performs well under pressure.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
  • Work Rights: Must have full legal working rights in Australia.
