About the role

We are seeking a Cook to join our team at Ecco Ristorante. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food dishes, maintaining high standards of quality, and collaborating with the front of house team to deliver excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with front of house team and internal customers regarding daily business events
• Conduct quality checks on food items to ensure high standards of quality
• Monitor and regulate temperatures of cooking equipment such as ovens and grills
• Prepare and cook a variety of food dishes
• Add appropriate seasoning to enhance the flavor of cooked food
• Portion food and plate it with complementary gravies, sauces, and garnishes
• Safely store food in designated temperature-controlled facilities
• Adhere to special dietary requirements when preparing food
• Assist in menu planning and estimating food quantities needed
• Provide training and guidance to other kitchen staff members and apprentices, if required

About you

• Passionate about the hospitality, culinary, and retail industries
• Extensive technical expertise encompassing various cooking methods and cuisines
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing staff during service
• Proficient in communication, organisation, and maintaining high grooming standards
• Thorough understanding of kitchen hygiene protocols and occupational health and safety requirements
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred
• At least 4 years working as a Cook/Chef
• Conversant in English
• Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident preferred)
