Company Description Bien Restauranter operates four distinct restaurants that showcase a passion for food from around the world.

We are at the moment looking for a cook for Bien Litteraturhuset which serves Norwegian culinary classics.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cook role based in Bergen. The Cook prepares and cooks dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation across various menus. Daily tasks include mise en place, operating kitchen equipment, monitoring food safety and hygiene, and coordinating with kitchen and service teams during service. The Cook also helps maintain a clean, organized workstation, supports inventory and stock rotation, and may assist in menu development or specials. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Strong practical cooking skills with experience in one or more of the following cuisines: Norwegian, or French.
• Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and efficient workflow in a busy restaurant environment.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, communicate clearly, and remain calm and focused during peak service.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and a genuine interest in learning new techniques and culinary traditions.
• Previous professional kitchen experience is highly preferred; formal culinary training or apprenticeship is an advantage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, handle a fast pace, and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in English or Norwegian for effective communication in the kitchen and with other staff members.
