Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
• Follow food safety standards rigorously to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
• Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular cleaning and sanitation of work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
• Adhere strictly to recipe instructions and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency in food quality
• Support dietary department or dietary aide tasks as needed, including meal assembly and special diet accommodations
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
• Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and enthusiasm for culinary arts

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or the food industry is highly preferred; restaurant or catering experience is a plus
• Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills and slicing techniques
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and recipe adherence
• Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff
• Dietary department or dietary aide experience is advantageous but not required
• A proactive attitude toward cleanliness, food handling, and safety standards

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
