Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our daycare center. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing quality meals, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to menu planning. This role requires a strong understanding of food handling and preparation techniques, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
• Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and cooking appliances.
• Ensure timely service during meal periods.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
• Provide support to dietary aides in meal service and special dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.
• A passion for cooking.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Certification in food safety is a plus but not required.
