Come join our awesome Dietary Team! This position involves cooking/preparing meals for adults participating in treatment for a substance use disorder.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and guidelines.
• Ensure food quality and presentation meet standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
• Monitor and manage inventory of food supplies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Assist with menu planning and special event catering as needed.

The position requires the following:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The employee must have a valid Illinois Driver's License and maintain a good driving records.
• The employee must possess an Illinois Food Service Manager Certificate or be able to obtain it upon hire.
• Ability to read and understand menus, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, public health regulations, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively to clients when necessary.

The physical demands described of this job: The employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, taste, and smell; frequently is required to walk; use hands to find, handle, or feel objects; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; and crouch; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pound, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Other abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, hearing, and speech.

The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
