Job Overview

As a Cook, you’ll prepare and serve meals while keeping the kitchen organized, clean, and safe. You’ll follow menus and recipes, use kitchen equipment responsibly, and work closely with kitchen staff to keep food service running smoothly. Dietary department experience is helpful, and candidates with food service, restaurant, catering, or other kitchen experience are encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Use knife skills and safe slicing techniques to prepare ingredients; operate kitchen equipment properly.
• Follow food handling procedures, food safety management practices, and production safety standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff during meal preparation and service; support menu planning as assigned.
• Clean work areas, utensils, and equipment, and maintain an orderly kitchen.

Qualifications

• Food preparation, cooking, and meal preparation skills; able to follow recipes and established procedures.
• Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling practices.
• Kitchen, culinary, food industry, or food service experience is helpful; dietary aide, dietary department, restaurant, or catering experience is a plus.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to coordinate with kitchen staff and assist with serving.
• Comfortable using kitchen equipment and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
