About the role

Valstar Hotel is seeking a dedicated Cook Daily Worker to join our culinary team in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Cook Daily Worker, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced hospitality environment, contributing directly to our guests' satisfaction and the hotel's reputation for culinary excellence. Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, plating standards and presentation guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your assigned station and kitchen areas throughout your shift
• Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the highest standards of food preparation
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during meal periods
• Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, marinating and seasoning ingredients
• Monitor food quality and taste, making adjustments as necessary to meet hotel standards
• Receive and respond to feedback from senior chefs and kitchen management
• Support the kitchen team with stocktaking and inventory management as required
• Maintain personal hygiene standards and wear appropriate protective equipment at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a cook in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices and kitchen regulations
• Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools safely and effectively
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
• A team-oriented approach with strong communication skills and willingness to take direction
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods whilst performing repetitive tasks
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required
• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable
• Experience with international or Asian cuisines would be advantageous
