Scope

• Reviews menus daily to determine quantities of food and supplies needed.
• Prepares food for cafeteria, patient food service and catering using creativity, quality, consistency, and promptness.
• Follow and comply with recipe standards.
• Monitors and replenishes food as needed for cafeteria, catering, or patient trays.
• Ensures food is being handled and stored to Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
• Operates various types of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness. Records temperatures of refrigerators. Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• One (1) year food service experience in a healthcare facility, such as health care food service is preferred
• Minimum 6 months experience in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare setting

• Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.

• Basic knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$16.90 - $23.76
