About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook II to join the culinary team at THE LEGEND HOTELS International Corporation in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise within a dynamic hospitality environment. As a Cook II, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of food preparation and presentation that our guests expect, whilst supporting the head chef and senior kitchen staff in delivering exceptional dining experiences across our hotel's food and beverage operations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to standardized recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
• Assist in menu planning and recipe development under the guidance of senior culinary staff
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene and sanitation protocols at all times
• Manage assigned cooking stations, ensuring equipment is clean, maintained and properly stocked
• Monitor food quality and taste, making adjustments as necessary to meet hotel standards
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation during service periods
• Receive and inspect food deliveries, checking for quality and proper storage
• Assist with inventory management and report on stock levels to kitchen management
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as required
• Support special events, banquets and catering functions as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with at least 1 year at Cook II level or equivalent
• Proficiency in various cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, and sauce preparation
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP principles
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently during peak service periods
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst also taking initiative independently
• Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent quality standards
• Experience with international cuisine or diverse culinary styles is highly desirable
• Knowledge of menu costing and portion control
• Valid food handling certification or willingness to obtain one
