About the role

Songbird Yarra Junction is a boutique 39-place early learning centre looking for a passionate Cook to join the team and take ownership of the kitchen. You'll prepare fresh meals and snacks each day, with plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity to the menu.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks
• Create healthy and appealing options for young children
• Cater for allergies and individual dietary requirements
• Follow the four-week rotational menu
• Manage food preparation, ordering and stock
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and food-safe
• Work alongside educators to support children's nutritional needs

About you

• Love cooking healthy food
• Organised, reliable and take pride in your work
• Can confidently manage a kitchen independently
• Enjoy being part of a small, supportive team
• Understand the importance of nutrition in the early years
• Experience cooking in an early childhood setting is highly regarded
• Desirable: Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Desirable: Working with Children Check
