Job Title: Cook

Program: Unaccompanied Minors

Salary: 21.00 Per Hour

General Responsibilities:

CGS is looking for a Passionate & Experienced Cook for our Unaccompanied Alien Children Services Program. As the Cook, you will be primarily responsible for planning menus, shopping for food, preparing the food for the residents and staff, and cleaning up following the meal. You will be responsible for maintaining the kitchen and pantry areas in a sanitary and efficient condition. Equipment and appliances are to be operated safely and professionally. Daily cleaning of these items is mandatory.

Required Skills:

• Experience in preparing food for groups
• Knowledge of nutritional recipes and balanced meals by USDA dietary guidelines
• Punctuality and professional demeanor are essential.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitary regulations from the NYC Dept. of Health
• Physically able to meet the demands of the position
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
• Adequate written skills to maintain required documentation
• Ability to relate to a variety of people and to communicate clearly
• Proficiency in the Spanish language required.

Desired Skills:

• 1-year experience preferred
• Food Handler’s Certificate
