Overview

Whispers Bar & Lounge is looking for a reliable, hardworking Barback / Cook to join our team! This dual-role position involves preparing our simple bar food menu while supporting bartenders and keeping the bar running smoothly.

We're looking for someone who takes initiative, works well under pressure, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bar food, including pizzas, appetizers, and snacks using ovens and air fryers.
• Restock beer, liquor, ice, garnishes, and bar supplies.
• Wash glassware, dishes, and bar equipment.
• Maintain clean and sanitized kitchen, bar, and work areas.
• Assist bartenders during busy shifts.
• Monitor food inventory and restock supplies.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and cleaning duties.

Requirements

• Current Texas Food Handler and TABC certifications required.
• Previous barback, kitchen, or food service experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Evening and weekend availability.

Schedule & Compensation

• Weekday shifts: 7 PM–12 AM
• Friday/Saturday shifts: 7 PM–2 AM
• Approximately 19 hours per week
• $8/hour + tip share
• Tips vary by shift and are not guaranteed.
