Love cooking but tired of late nights?

We're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly catering team at Pensthorpe Natural Park.

If you enjoy preparing fresh, delicious food but would prefer a role with more sociable working hours, this could be the perfect opportunity.

Our recently expanded café and modern, purpose-built kitchen provide a fantastic working environment, with shifts typically between 8am and 3:30pm.

We offer permanent contracts between 21 and 35 hours per week, making this a great opportunity whether you're looking for part-time or near full-time work.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside our experienced kitchen team, you'll help prepare and serve fresh, homemade food for our visitors, including breakfasts, lunches, soups, pies, quiches and seasonal specials.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh food to a consistently high standard
• Supporting breakfast and busy lunchtime services
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
• Managing food preparation, storage and stock rotation
• Working closely with colleagues to deliver great food and service
• Contributing ideas for new dishes and seasonal menus

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in their work and brings a positive attitude to the kitchen.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience preparing and cooking food in a professional kitchen
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling
• The ability to stay organised during busy periods
• A friendly, reliable and hardworking approach

Experience in a café, pub, restaurant, school, care home or similar catering environment is welcome. Formal chef qualifications are not essential.

Working hours

Various permanent contract options are available between 21 and 35 hours per week.

Shifts are predominantly daytime, although weekend and bank holiday working is required, with occasional evenings for special events.
