Cook/Dietary Aide

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cook/Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service and food handling, with experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital environments. As a Cook/Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious, well-prepared meals in a safe and sanitary manner. Duties

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to dietary guidelines and safety standards.
• Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism, ensuring proper portioning and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including cleaning dishes, utensils, and food preparation surfaces.
• Support the dietary department by bussing tables, clearing trays, and ensuring dining spaces are tidy.
• Follow food safety protocols during handling, storage, and serving of food items to prevent contamination.
• Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of low stock levels.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery while adhering to dietary restrictions and special requests.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Experience with food preparation, serving, and meal assembly in a healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service skills with a respectful approach toward residents or patients.
• Familiarity with dietary department operations and basic culinary techniques is desirable.
